Media Blocklist for ARMY

It's no secret at this point that even the media uses BTS and ARMY for clicks and engagement. From Forbes Magazine writers trying to instigate fanwars for clicks and pitting BTS members against each other in negative ways to writers using ARMY as bait to write controversial things and put the fandom out to be toxic, there are several people whom we need to make sure we are not giving attention to and are blocking. If we report and block on as many platforms as possible then they don't get access to us and they don't get to use us for attention. I'm going to make this an actual list on here that I will try to keep updated. It's just easier to make one here than it is to do on Threads. I already have one on Bluesky as well if you follow me there (it's under my lists).

When we see articles that are appealing in a positive way or shocking in a negative way, our first instinct is to comment and share with others. We need to be more alert as we do this and be cautious of what we share. Some of these people will go back and forth between good positive articles, videos, social media posts and bad ones and they will use the attention and get paid. We should avoid them at all costs and not engage with them at all. We also need to be mindful of the comments we make because there are writers among us and ones who stalk social media for ARMY comments to use as pull quotes and screenshots in their articles. They don't need your permission since social media is public. I see this a ton with Twitter and not as much with Threads but your Threads are searchable on Google now so if they want to find quotes from Threads they can and could pull yours and use them.

Media Blocklist for BTS ARMY

  • Hugh McIntyre- writer for Forbes Magazine-pits BTS members against each other and compares their achievements in a negative way; negatively compares BTS to other groups, will make positive articles to get clicks and then write negative ones shortly after, often within days of each other. My post on him is here.
  • Stefne Miller- Armyproject529 founder-wrote memoir about being "army" and threatened to write a chapter about being bullied by ARMY when she made negative comments about RM in an now viral Tik Tok and was called out on it (was not bullied but respectfully called out on it by most and blocked those trying to talk to her respectfully about it), Tagged RM in the negative comment about him hoping he'd see her post, see my post on her here
  • Jung Min Jae- Reporter who defamed Yoongi's name saying he gave conflicting reports to police during the scooter incident when he never did
  • Wallea Eaglehawk-aka The BTS Theorist- has a podcast and Substack blog called The BTS Theorist where she puts out a lot of negative content about ARMY calling us bullies but puts herself in the middle as "army" and says her plan is to show the dark side of the fandom so we can address it, she knows she can grift off of the solos and the antis with this and wrote an article all about ARMY "cancelling" her because she didn't like a song, has several books about ARMY, puts other toxic so-called "army" on her podcast like Professor Bangtan and agrees with all their crazy lies about Hybe and BTS (toxic manti behavior)
  • Traci J. Reeves-aka ProfessorBangtan on IG- pro-boycott of Hybe and BTS because of ignorantly linking them to Israel by association with Scooter Braun (because he has Jewish ancestry and supports Israel which has 0 to do with BTS), makes idiotic statements about BTS and said that Hybe staged the Yoongi scooter incident to get attention during the enlistment break when we know how absurd that is when we had so much content we couldn't keep up (need for attention where?), a Blink but tries to say she's "army"
  • Sakshma Srivastav-Indian TV host- made toxic comments about ARMY bullying another idol that were not true just to get attention
  • Jeff Benjamin- "journalist" who has written for Forbes and Billboard - has used BTS's enlistment for clicks and misrepresented their military enlistment as a potential breakup of the group, stans groups that have fandoms notorious for hating on BTS and writes like a Kpoppie anti
  • Lina Greco-  FL blogger who followed Namjoon in Tampa and recorded herself walking behind him. She was basically stalking him and invading his privacy while he was on private time and tried to argue that at least she didn't speak to him. Following closely and recording him from behind as he walked is stalking. Goes by "linalunamar" on IG and Threads
  • WFLA- FL TV news station posted on their IG unauthorized CCTV video of BTS arriving at a restaurant in Tampa FL on their private time

Tabloid blogs and sites to avoid

I've already written a bit about tabloid blogs to avoid that write about K-pop. We need to not read and not pay attention to these sites because they pay writers to come up with rumors about people and they take the chance on getting sued for libel. The ones with financial backing coming from rich investors like Koreaboo don't care about getting sued because they have the money to pay. Smaller sites have more to lose. Here is a list of some to avoid. I'm not including YouTube tabloids because there are way too many of them and we'd be here all day. Just continue to report and block those as you find them.

Koreaboo
Soompi
Allkpop
Pop Base
Sportskeeda
Pannchoa
The Qoo
Hindustan Times
The Joe Budden Podcast - he made racist comments about BTS before
The Shade Room
Times of India
Pinkvilla

Rainews.it ---Italian news--used the police line photo of Yoongi on 6/21 after his discharge on an article about his release from the military
The Indian Express- negative Suga articles post military

PBS News Hour- made a Threads post excluding Yoongi and called sasaengs fans and interviewed one of the Brazilians at the military discharge event, also added the sasaengs in their TikTok on the discharge

Buzzfeed Celebrity-used Jin to get followers by saying they were going to withhold his interview till they got to a certain number of followers and asked ARMY to run up the followers number and they'd drop the interview for us knowing they were already going to have to show the interview regardless, they had lost followers because they had body shamed Blue Ivy (12) for wearing a strapless gown to a premier and caught backlash for it from Beehive and generally everyone so they felt they'd use ARMY to build back up

Vogue Thailand - On Aug 6 2025 they made a VMAs post on Twitter saying to vote for Blackpink members (one or 2 of their girlies is Thai or something) and they hashtagged it for VMAs to disqualify Jimin and started drama where people were thinking Jimin's album wasn't qualified due to the time period of release. VT issued an apology lying saying it wasn't intentional when their social media manager literally had to type the tweet for it to post. Beyond unprofessional!

Koreanophiles- (on Instagram, Facebook, and Threads)- they call themselves a media company but must be relatively new, probably just a tabloid blog. Posted an Instagram post that says that V (Taehyung) purchased the most expensive apartment in SK and showed a picture of the building the apartment is supposedly in. The description under the pic also mentions the neighborhood and other famous celebs that live in the building (allegedly). This is a gross privacy violation and it's how the stalking of Jungkook at his home started with some blog or YouTube influencer posting that he bought a new home and it spread like wildfire leading to people leaving notes in his mail slot and taking selfies in front of his home and at least 2 stalkers trying to break in.

Bloomberg- Writer Lucas Shaw- 10.27.25, main photo excludes Yoongi, article about the comeback full of unsubstantiated rumors about tour dates, also lies and says they disbanded temporarily during military service when that never happened bc they were always a group and just released prerecorded solo activities during enlistment

I will add to this list as new things come up. I don't have receipts from the scooter incident of K-media but I will add them if anyone has them just let me know.
